KOTA KINABALU: The passenger ferry service between Kota Kinabalu and Labuan has resumed after several years of suspension, restoring a vital transport link for public travel and regional economic activity. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the revival reflects the Government's commitment to public welfare, highlighting the route's importance for families, education, tourism, and business. The service was previously halted due to unsafe jetty conditions, subsidy cuts, and the Covid-19 pandemic. Operations have now shifted from Jesselton Point to Kota Kinabalu Port, overseen by the port authority, with RM1.3 million allocated for upgrades. Hajiji thanked the involved agencies for their cooperation.
