Washington restaurant hosts dinner series highlighting local NC Chefs
WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) — The Hackney in downtown Washington is hosting a Passion 25 dinner series. This is a fundraiser in partnership with NC Catch. The dinner series is bringing in different chefs from all over North Carolina.
'We really bring other chefs in for us to learn, for other people to experience, for people to be able to come in and see chefs that they would have to travel [to see] otherwise, but they can come to Washington,' said Susanne Hackney, Co-owner and Restaurant Manager of the Hackney.
Chef Jamie Davis with the Hackney is an NC Catch Ambassador and has helped to bring the dinner series to life.
'I think [it's] everything you can imagine that's available right now in terms of North Carolina seafood. So it's grouper season, [it] is tilefish… We've got yellowfin tuna, so it's going to be all those different things,' Hackney said.
A percentage of the proceeds will go to NC Catch, a charity that supports commercial fishing in North Carolina.
The fundraiser is running from May 27th to Saturday, May 31st, where different chefs will be highlighted every night.
