Central Rly serves free chilled water at select stations

Nagpur Division

Central Railway
has introduced '
Free Chilled Water Distribution Services
' at Sevagram, Dhamangaon, Wani, Pandhurna, and Multai railway stations, effective from Tuesday. This measure was adopted in the backdrop of Vidarbha suffering an intense heatwave with soaring temperatures.
This initiative focuses on providing cool, safe, and hygienic drinking water to passengers, especially those travelling in general and unreserved coaches, who are often most impacted by the heat. On the inaugural day, chilled water was distributed on board train no. 12616 Grand Trunk Express and train no. 12792 Secunderabad–Patna Express, drawing appreciation from passengers.
Volunteers actively participated in distributing water bottles to passengers in the general compartments, bringing a sense of comfort and care to long-distance travellers. The initiative is being closely monitored by station authorities to maintain smooth operations and hygiene standards.
