California Politicians Push 13-Bill Package to Rescue Downtowns
A group of California mayors and Assembly members unveiled a sweeping legislative package aimed at rescuing the state's downtowns from the lingering economic effects of the pandemic.
The plan consists of proposals by San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie and Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson, among other local leaders. It totals 13 bills collectively, including measures to reduce commercial real estate vacancies, boost small businesses, relax restrictions on nightlife and tackle homelessness.
