Liberals did not ‘appeal' to women during election
News Corp Senior Writer Patrick Carlyon claims the Liberal Party does not 'appeal on any level' to women. 'I think the Liberals have a massive issue with women at the moment,' Mr Carlyon told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'I don't know any woman under the age of 40 who voted Liberal, to be honest. ‘Muddled' Net Zero by 2050 could cause conflict in Coalition
News Corp Senior Writer Patrick Carlyon discusses the Coalition's position on Net Zero by 2050 which has caused 'little arguments' within the party. 'I think the timeline is probably helpful for somebody like Sussan Ley in this position in that the Net Zero 2050 question has sort of gotten muddled in the last few years by rising power prices,' Mr Carlyon told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'The renewables dream is unachievable without fossil fuels. 'I don't think the 2050 question is sort of front and center for a lot of Australians at the moment.'

Sussan Ley will have the ‘toughest job' as Opposition leader
News Corp Senior Writer Patrick Carlyon says Opposition leader Sussan Ley has the 'hardest job' in trying to 'rebuild' the Liberal Party which could take 'months if not years'. 'She's going to seek to unite a party that managed to alienate so many different parts of the community,' Mr Carlyon told Sky News host Rita Panahi. 'The Liberal Party doesn't know what it is, what it's trying to be, and what it wants to be. 'The party managed to put off so many sections of the community, what she has to try and do is sort of present a party that listens to Australia and actually is aware of what Australians care about.'

Jacinta Allan's comments on Noah Bolta are a ‘great distraction' from the Victorian economy
News Corp Senior Writer Patrick Carlyon questions Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan's comments on Noah Bolta prior to his sentencing, saying it's a 'great distraction' from 'bad economic news'. 'I'm guessing there must have been some bad economic news on the day that she was saying that, because it's a great distraction, isn't it,' Mr Carlyon said. 'If you compare it to, there's going to be six, eight, ten, across NRL – AFL cases, players who have been charged with being violent … this one is probably at the lower end, the footage is dreadful.'
