May election results are in
SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The results of the May 3 elections are available after the City Council members canvassed the results at a meeting on May 14. Tom Thompson was declared San Angelos' new mayor with Patrick Keely and Mary Coffey as the new members for the County Districts four and six. Also at the meeting, the council approved the $41 million bond to renovate the City Coliseum, along with the approval of the runoff for the council district two seat because none of the three candidates received more than 50% of the vote. Due to the Texas Election Code, all five members of the council must be present and four must agree on a vote for the run-off election. 'Texas election code requires a of only two council members to canvas and vote; however, because we had to call a runoff election today for a single-member district two, that does require a full quorum,' said Heather Stastny, City Clerk. Voters will decide between Dudra Butler and Joe Self during the runoff on June 7. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
