"A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.' South Lanarkshire Council has closed several roads to assist with the police investigation. The local authority added: "Due to an ongoing police incident, Bent Lane, Bent Recreation Park and Bent Park and Stride in Hamilton are closed today, Thursday 29 May. "St John's Primary School and Hamilton Grammar are open as normal."
