Patrick McDonald dishes on leaving Bravo & reality TV for a career in adult entertainment (exclusive)

This is the confessional you needed. Back in April, Patrick McDonald shocked Bravo and reality TV fans everywhere by releasing a viral video detailing his alleged toxic experience working on a slew of successful shows including Vanderpump Rules and The Real Housewives franchises. The star also claimed in the jaw-dropping video that his decision to start posting explicit content on OnlyFans led to him being phased out from the network. "After I made that video about my time at Bravo, my OnlyFans also blew up at that time. I'm proud of the work that I'm doing and I'm proud to put my real name on it. That's something that I haven't seen anyone do before. I've been really delighted to see how positive the feedback and the fans are with this kind of stuff," McDonald tells PRIDE. See on Instagram Although the clip sent shockwaves on social media, McDonald received plenty of love from his supporters online including certain Real Housewives and his former colleagues. "So many Housewives and Bravolebrities past and present are cheering me on. I'm in touch with quite a few of the people that I worked with. A lot of them have been very lovely. Some of them, I'm happy to never speak to again. I won't say their names, but you can probably figure it out by seeing which of the Housewives I worked with that I don't follow [on Instagram]." McDonald may be one of the freshest faces in the adult entertainment industry, but the star quickly gained attention from quite a few big studios. Now, the model is gearing up to star in his very first SeanCody scene which he calls a "dream come true." As a vers performer, fans can expect to see McDonald in all sorts of diverse and erotic scenes on the popular site that compliment the videos that are available now on his OnlyFans. "I have always been a bit of freak. I love having sex. I love having adventurous sex. I went all in from the jump! That really embodies Pride to me. Now, it's more important than ever to be loudly and boldly gay as f**." See on Instagram At 39 years old, McDonald hopes his outspoken nature inspires other people in the queer community to live life more fearlessly, especially during this pivotal Pride Month. "I just couldn't be a bigger advocate for taking the risk and taking the chance to see if you can be happier. You miss every shot that you don't take, so I shoot my shot, you know?" Fans can catch the spicy debut scene on SeanCody when it premieres this Wednesday. To see the full interview with Patrick McDonald, check out the video at the top of the page.

Gay former Bravo producer accuses the network of firing him over OnlyFans in scathing videos

Patrick McDonald, an Emmy-nominated reality TV producer known for his work on Bravo's Real Housewives franchises and Vanderpump Rules, has publicly alleged that his engagement with adult content on OnlyFans led to his professional estrangement from the network. In two separate 9-minute videos posted to social media, McDonald explained that after initiating his OnlyFans account under the username ThiccTrick1 in August 2024, his collaborations with Bravo ceased, suggesting a direct correlation between his side venture and his diminished opportunities with the network. McDonald acknowledged the potential risks associated with his decision, stating, "I'm not an idiot. I knew there was a chance when I started making adult content it could jeopardize my work with Bravo." He contrasted his situation with that of onscreen talent who have maintained similar accounts without apparent repercussions, questioning the disparity in treatment between on-camera personalities and behind-the-scenes staff. See on Instagram Beyond his personal experience, McDonald criticized the broader work environment within reality TV production, citing instances of overworked producers, problematic showrunners, and insensitive handling of cast members' personal matters. In fact, the long days worked by the crew — including 22-hour flights for international trips, followed immediately by full days of shooting with no rest — started his journey toward adult entertainment. 'My passion for the genre started to wane as a result [of] how poorly the cast and crew were treated at times,' he said. See on Instagram He also recounted a particular incident involving a cast member's sexuality, seemingly Kyle Richards. Although he didn't name her directly, he heavily eluded to a situation that sounded exactly what she's going through with the rumors about her relationship with country singer Morgan Wade. McDonald said he didn't think it was right to try and out someone without their consent, and he alleges they did so recently with someone. He also alleges the producers pushed the storyline and encouraged fellow cast members to ask questions, even though the other party wanted privacy over the matter. He described the internal discussions as, "insensitive, problematic, and quite frankly gross." The interaction also acted as a catalyst for him to leave, saying, 'The circumstances around that storyline were a major contributing factor to me realizing that it was time to make a change.' McDonald said he looked around at his friends in the adult entertainment industry and how much less they worked, which got him thinking about the industry. 'Honestly, adult entertainment is something I've been interested in doing for a long time, but I was too scared to do it because of the fear of what other people might think,' he said. He added, 'I mean, working with the Housewives can be fun at times, but traveling the world to film with some of the most beautiful men on the planet is also a pretty top-tier job.' See on Instagram Despite the professional fallout, McDonald expressed no regrets about his transition into adult content creation, saying, 'Sex work is real, legitimate work, and it has been since the dawn of time.' He noted that other Bravo personalities, such as Larsa Pippen and Denise Richards, have also ventured into platforms like OnlyFans, highlighting a perceived inconsistency in the network's stance toward such endeavors. Outside of Bravo, McDonald isn't the only one to receive this type of discrimination for creating adult content. Last August, X-Men 97 creator Beau DeMayo was also reportedly fired over a similar situation. As of now, Bravo has not publicly responded to McDonald's claims. PRIDE also reached out to McDonald for a comment but has yet to receive a response.
