Munster's largest waterpark to re-open this Saturday with more activities and attractions for people of all ages

From kayaking to water slides and pedal boats, the Lagoon Activity Centre suits all in need of a summer splash. Ireland's recent spell of good weather has us all dreaming of an endless summer, of weekend barbecues and ice cream by the gallon. As the evenings get warmer and we try to make the most of every minute, it's only natural that we end up looking for ways to cool down. Well, what better way than a splash about at one of Ireland's favourite water sports centres, the Lagoon Activity Centre in Rosscarbery. Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Winner for 2022, the Lagoon Activity Centre is returning bigger and better this year. Covering an area of 1,600 sq metres and with its quarter kilometre of platforms and obstacles, the Lagoon Activity Centre offers a range of activities for the whole family. Dotted throughout Munster's largest waterpark is a towering iceberg, an adrenaline pumping jumping pillow, trampolines, numerous slides, climbing walls, a hamster wheel and balance beams. You can then relax with a pedalo, stand up paddle board, kayak or captain your own ship with The Lagoon's new activity, Mini Captains. Fun adventures can also be arranged for adults, businesses, schools, youth groups and birthday parties. Whatever the occasion or group, the Lagoon Activity Centre will cater for it. Visitors don't need to be skilled, either, as the centre's instructors are highly trained and have years of experience on the water. They're available to ensure visitors have a safe and fun time regardless of their skill level, meaning it's easy to learn and enjoy each activity to its fullest. Located less than an hour's drive from Cork city and only one hour and 25 minutes from Killarney by car, the centre is perfect for corporate events, too, as the Lagoon team organises a range of engaging team-building activities. These help to hone essential skills around teamwork and creative problem-solving that lay the foundations for a success future. Paul Melody of the Lagoon Activity Centre said: 'We find the centre attracts all groups and ages. It is a great day out for families and business teams alike. When we get fine weather there is really no better way to cool off and unwind that with fun water sports.' Situated in Rosscarbery on Cork's famous west coast, the centre also features Jack's Shack, their outdoor dining area by the water where visitors can finish off the day with a taco, loaded fries, pizza, ice cream or a coffee. The full list of activities, events and amenities includes: Towering iceberg, jumping pillow and trampolines, slides, climbing walls and balance beams, kayaking, pedal boats, school tours and corporate events.
