EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: £320million 'Princess of Soho' India Rose James is engaged to her musician boyfriend after tattooed wedding proposal

She was thrown out of £54,500-a-year St George's, Ascot, for having an 'uncontrollable attitude'. Perhaps that wasn't entirely unsurprising, given that, aged 16, she'd become the youngest person ever to appear on a Rich List – and, at 21, was richer than Queen Elizabeth. But now, at 33, India Rose James, granddaughter of the late pornographer and property king Paul Raymond, is ready to settle down. I can disclose that the 'Princess of Soho', as India Rose once playfully described herself, has got engaged to Mexican-American musician Daniel Vildosola. 'Friends, don't make other plans in 2026!' India Rose says online alongside a series of snaps, one of which shows Daniel proposing, on bended knee, inside a New York tattoo parlour, where he'd had 'Will you marry me?' inked on to a forearm. Her grandfather amassed a £650million fortune by the time he died in 2008, with the lion's share divided equally between India Rose and her older half-sister, Fawn. But Raymond's final years had been clouded by the death in 1992 of his only daughter, the girls' mother, Debbie, aged 36, after she drank a bottle of vodka and took cocaine and heroin. India Rose, daughter of Debbie's second husband, John James, might have feared that a similar fate awaited her. She was, at one stage, partying 'a bit too often', she reflected in 2020. By then she was already a mother with a daughter aged three, Sapphire, by Hugh Harris, lead guitarist of the Kooks. But she had stopped drinking. 'I can't have a hangover and look after a child at the same time,' she told me at the time. Last month, she reflected on how she'd jettisoned 'past vices' in favour of her passion for art, which led her to open the Soho Revue Gallery. Who stars' war of words before last tour even starts! Is the Who's 'farewell' tour of the US already under threat? First, the drummer Zak Starkey was kicked out of the veteran rock group for the second time in a month. Now, Roger Daltrey says he wasn't impressed by Pete Townshend's remark that being in the band after 61 years is like 'flogging a dead horse'. Daltrey retorts: 'If Pete doesn't want to tour, I don't want to be back with The Who on the road, at 81, with someone who doesn't want be there — if that's what he's saying. I won't do it with someone who is half-hearted about it. But, you know, every dog has its day and it was a wonderful ride.' Sleepy Naga catches up on rest in the boozer Having co-hosted BBC Breakfast for more than a decade, Naga Munchetty is accustomed to 3am starts. Clearly, the early morning wake-up calls are catching up with her. 'My local pub will put me in the corner because I sometimes sleep between meals, between courses,' reveals Naga, 50. 'I genuinely love my job... but sometimes I could do with the extra hour of sleep,' she admits. The presenter remains full of beans, however, adding that she likes to 'get rip-roaring drunk at my local golf club – and no one will take my picture'. Ginger Spice still benefitting from band Geri Halliwell owns race horses and lives on a country estate with her husband, Formula One boss Christian Horner, yet she still enjoys regular, welcome reminders of her days as Ginger Spice. The former pop star, 52, has just published accounts for her company Wonderful Productions, which she set up in 1997 to receive income from the Spice Girls. They disclose that it reported an £862,312 profit for the year to last August 2024, taking accumulated earnings held by her in her company to £2.16 million. Daniel Craig, Keira and a very A-list school run Keira Knightley and Daniel Craig, left, who appeared in 2005 film The Jacket together, have been reunited on the school run. I hear James Bond star Daniel, 57, and Keira, 40, are sending their children to the same private school in north London. Keira's husband, musician James Righton is very involved in school activities, appearing in the Christmas show, and his enthusiasm is matched by Daniel and his Oscar-winning wife, Rachel Weisz. 'Keira and James are very into their children's school,' a source tells me. 'They always want to get involved and now it's rubbing off on Daniel and Rachel. Their kids are in the same year, which is handy.' Muscle man Jenrick Newly svelte Robert Jenrick has his eyes on another trial of his stamina: doing the Three Peaks challenge, which entails conquering the highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. The 43-year-old shadow justice secretary is already in training. According to his stoical wife Michal, who will not be joining him on the climbs, he is now so focused on improving his lasting power that he has installed dumbbells in the bathroom of their London flat. Muscle man! 'Everyone deserves a second chance' The film-makers behind Kevin Spacey's new movie The Awakening have defended their controversial decision to bring the actor to this year's Cannes Film Festival, despite his not being invited by the organisers. Producer Matt Hookings tells me at the World Better Fund Gala at the Carlton Beach Club: 'You have to believe and stand by the justice system. He won every court case. 'I just like to do good work. I don't really get bothered by people's past. Everyone deserves a second chance. He's a mind-blowing actor.'
