New blood bank facility at Coimbatore VGM Hospital
A blood bank facility was inaugurated at the VGM Hospital in Coimbatore on Saturday (June 14, 2025). Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, district Collector, Ramesh Babu, CEO & MD of Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) was the guest of honour.
KVB, in association with VGM Foundation, inaugurated KVB VGM Foundation Blood Bank at the VGM Multispecialty Hospital marking the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.
Dr. V.G. Mohan Prasad, chairman of VGM Hospital and president of the VGM Blood Centre initiative, said, 'With increasing demand and the need for safe blood, we are proud to bring this facility to the people of Coimbatore.' Mr. Babu said, 'This initiative is a crucial step in serving the community and putting compassion to action.'
The event also marked the launch of KVB Aarogya, a health and wellness programme. The Collector congratulated the team for bringing in modern equipment to offer a satisfactory experience to the volunteers who donate for a noble cause.
As part of the launch, 'Give Blood, Give Hope, together we save lives' campaign was unveiled under the leadership of Dr. Prasad. The facility will be open 24/7 and will conduct monthly donation drives and education sessions for the benefit of the public.
