Paving program to upgrade Piqua streets and alleys
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A new citywide initiative will bring improvements to Piqua streets and alleys. According to the Miami Valley Today, the 2025 Pavement Program will focus on improving streets and alleys throughout Piqua, from street pavement surfacing treatments and alley resurfacing to curb ramp replacements. Alleys approved for the project have already been receiving maintenance work. The installation of new curb ramps are also in store, which will comply with the standards stated in the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ramps will be constructed from June through August at intersections and sidewalk crossings set for pavement surfacing treatments. The pavement surfacing treatments will begin in early September. Selected streets, alleys and curbs were chosen as part of the Pavement Condition Index report, which was filed by the city last year. For additional information, visit Piqua's website. San Diego begins Mission Bay Drive resurfacing in Pacific Beach
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The City of San Diego is alerting drivers to plan ahead as road work is taking place on a busy section of Mission Bay Drive in Pacific Beach through next week. Crews with the City of San Diego this week began a resurfacing project on a 2 lane-mile segment of Mission Bay Drive near Garnet Avenue. Frustration grows over potholes along Miramar Road in San Diego City Mill and Pave teams will be resurfacing portions of Mission Bay Drive, with work on some sections planned for nighttime to minimize traffic impacts and maximize efficiency. The City says Mill and Pave is unlike Slurry Seal as it involves removing around 2.5 inches of asphalt (the milling process), then applying about 3 inches of new asphalt, which is compressed to restore road strength and smoothness. Weekend roadwork closes Eastbound SR-52 Mission Bay Drive was identified for resurfacing based on its Pavement Condition Index (PCI) score of 27.4, which is considered 'very poor,' and its role as a highly traveled corridor, according to the City.
