"This programme is aimed at enriching students' educational experience and fostering their holistic development," said a senior official from the state education department. "Each district has been allocated a budget of around Rs 10 lakh, depending on the number of schools and students, to cover activity materials and refreshments." The camps, which will be held in a safe and student-friendly environment, are being introduced to expose government school students to the kind of creative and extracurricular opportunities often seen in private schools. Participation of teachers and principals will be voluntary, and names must be approved by the District School Inspector. Additionally, written consent from parents is mandatory for students to attend and must be submitted by May 20. "Camps have been confirmed in 13 govt schools, and interested aided schools can approach the department for permission," said Pawan Bhati, a senior education officer. To enhance the quality of programming, Schools have been encouraged to collaborate with the NCC, Scouts and Guides, as well as local artists, sportspersons, and the prevailing heatwave, the timing and duration of activities will be decided by district-level committees in accordance with local weather conditions.
