Great Dane rescue founder has a big heart

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. — Nicole Carter volunteers with Daisy's Dane Sanctuary, a Great Dane rescue based in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. 'Chrissy Scott started the nonprofit after her own Great Dane died,' said Carter. 'And currently, Chrissy has her garage transformed as home base, but Scott is looking to expand.' Church youth director inspires young people The sanctuary went viral last year when Chrissy was called in to rescue 10 Great Danes who lived in horrific conditions in Miami County. Now she's getting calls from all over the U.S. As a result of her service to the community, FOX4 is giving Chrissy a Pay it Forward $400 gift card. To nominate someone unrelated to you, . Pay it Forward: Eunice Pre-K school receives $1,000

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)– A mom gives her daughter's school $1,000 after Bob Giles with Giles Automotive and News 10 surprise her with the envelope of cash. We met Maggie Thevis and told her about 'Pay it Forward,' an initiative Giles partners with KLFY for each month. Thevis was randomly selected and given the chance to pay it forward. She hesitated, with no time to surprise someone right then and there. 'I'm on my way to a field trip, really,' Thevis said. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Thevis was on her way to chaperone her daughter's class field trip at the zoo. Bob asked her if maybe a parent in her daughter's class could use the money. She knew plenty did, as she and her husband have previously donated school necessities to her daughter's classmates in need. Pay It Forward: Local couple helps woman caring for ill daughter Then, Thevis realized the school itself, Highland Early Learning Center in Eunice, needs the money. Highland is raising money to build a security gate to keep students safe. We surprised the Pre-K classes and their teachers at the zoo. Thevis paid it forward with $1,000. The teachers thanked Thevis, all saying Highland needed the money for classroom material, playground toys and the security gate. Benefact Group, one of the UK's leading corporate donors, has launched a bold new initiative - Pay it Forward - putting the power of giving directly into the hands of those who understand its impact best: charities themselves. Part of the Benefact Group's Movement for Good Awards, which gives over £1 million to charities each year, Pay it Forward is being piloted in 2025 with a dedicated £50,000 fund. The initiative has launched with five charities across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, each receiving £2,000. To start each chain, Benefact Group selected charities that had been nominated in its Movement for Good programme over multiple years but never won. From that point on, it's down to each charity to choose the next - a true 'pay it forward' chain of generosity that will ultimately benefit 25 charities. Kindness Homeless Street Team Chris Pitt, Group Impact Director from Benefact Group said: 'Charities know their sector better than anyone. We're excited to see where their insight leads and how this trust-based chain of giving plays out. It's about community, collaboration, and curiosity – what happens when we give charities the reins?' Each week, our soup kitchen provides hot meals to around 200 people, while our food and clothing bank, which is open four days a week, offers essential supplies to those in need. In addition, our community space welcomes over 500 people every month, hosting well-being events, breakfast and lunch clubs, and more.
