Investigation underway after large illegal dump site catches on fire, Payne Springs Fire Rescue says

PAYNE SPRINGS. Texas (KETK) –Payne Springs Fire Rescue volunteer firefighters found a large fire in an illegal dumping site on FM 316 on Wednesday. VIDEO: Firefighters rescue cat stuck inside wall in Tyler home According to a Payne Springs Fire Rescue Facebook post, PSFR volunteers were alerted to a fire at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday night. When volunteers arrived they discovered an illegal dump site on fire. Both PSFR and Henderson County Precinct 2 worked to extinguish the fire. 'We would like to thank Henderson County Precinct 2 for bringing out heavy equipment to assist in containing this fire and placing a fire line around it,' the Henderson County Fire Marshal's office said in the Facebook post. Payne Springs firefighters respond to house fire that leaves one dog dead

PAYNE SPRINGS, Texas (KETK)– Payne Springs Fire Rescue responded to a house fire on Monday morning that had 11 people inside and left one dog dead. According to PSFR, around 3:49 a.m. firefighters responded to FM 316 near Payne Springs where they found a heavy fire on the back exterior of the home. Smith County ESD2 helps save home of award-winning 'Hank the Cowdog' author 'PSFR Engine 1 responded with six and pulled two lines to attack the fire, one to the rear for the exterior fire and to protect a vehicle and one to the front door for an interior attack,' PSFR said. 'Interior crews faced heavy fire and a confusing interior layout due to multiple additions to the structure and the garage having been converted to a living space.' Photos courtesy of Payne Spring Fire Rescue Officials said that there was five adults and six children inside the home at the time of the fire but all escaped before firefighters arrived. Several of the people suffered from smoke inhalation and one with minor burns but one dog did not survive the fire. 3 injured in trailer fire near Mabank

MABANK, Texas (KETK) – Firefighters from Payne Springs Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene of a home burning in the Hidden Hills Harbor near Mabank on Sunday morning. Smith County firefighters respond to 15 grassfires in two days The single-wide trailer was totally engulfed when the first Payne Springs Fire Rescue crew arrived at the scene. When a second crew arrived a short time later, officials said the fire was able to be extinguished. Payne Springs Fire Rescue said one adult and two children were treated for minor injuries by EMS. They were all reportedly released before the firefighters cleared the scene. Click here to see a Facebook post that Payne Springs Fire Rescue shared to help the residents. The home's heavy metal roof required Henderson County Precinct 2 to respond to the scene with a backhoe. Gun Barrel City Fire Department, Long Cove Fire Department, Log Cabin Fire Department, Malakoff Fire Department, the Henderson County Fire Marshal's Office, UT Health EMS and the American Red Cross also responded to the scene.
