Chicopee teen charged with murder following shooting investigation

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Chicopee teenager was arrested and charged with murder following a deadly shooting last Thursday. Hampden County District Attorney's Office Communications Director Payton North shared that on May 29 at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the DA's Office received a report of a shooting in Chicopee. Springfield police investigating deadly weekend shooting Officers from the Chicopee Police Department were called to 16 Charbonneau Terrace after reports and found an injured man with multiple wounds. Emergency crews performed immediate life-saving measures, but the victim passed away shortly after. The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Tre Kingsbury of West Springfield. Detectives arriving at the location were able to identify and arrest 17-year-old Jayshawn Kempton of Chicopee as a suspect connected to the shooting. On Friday, Kempton was arraigned in Chicopee District Court and charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm. Kempton is being held without the right to bail and is scheduled in court on June 26 for a pre-trial conference. The Hampden County District Attorney's Office State Police Detective Unit and the Chicopee Police Department are continuing to investigate the incident. SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The two men who died from gunshot wounds on Hebron Street in Springfield have been identified. Hampden County District Attorney's Office Communications Director Payton North said that on April 2 at approximately 5:40 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Department were called to a home on the 0-100 block of Hebron Street following reports of a shooting. Shooting on Hebron Street in Springfield leaves two men dead Upon arrival, officers found two men inside of the home with gunshot wounds. The victims were brought to Baystate Medical Center, where they both passed away due to the severity of their injuries. The victims have been identified as 55-year-old Noe Martin of Springfield and 35-year-old Justin Santiago of Springfield. Hampden DA Anthony D. Gulluni expresses his condolences to the loved ones of the victims. This incident is being investigated by the Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit under the direction of Captain Trent Duda in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney's Murder Unit. Law enforcement said that there is no ongoing public safety threat. SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman who passed away from injuries during a shooting on Allen Park Road in Springfield has been identified. Woman dead after shooting on Allen Park Road in Springfield On February 27, the Springfield Police Department said officers received a report at around 3:00 a.m. regarding unknown trouble at the 100 block of Allen Park Road. When they arrived at the location and entered the home, two victims were found with gunshot wounds. A woman died at the location of the shooting, and a man was brought to Baystate Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Hampden District Attorney's Office Communications Director Payton North said that the female victim of the shooting has been identified as 54-year-old Leslie Westbrook of Springfield. The Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit is currently investigating the incident in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney's Murder Unit. Woman struck and killed by vehicle in Chicopee identified

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The woman struck and killed by a vehicle on Abbey Memorial Drive in Chicopee has been identified. In a news release sent to 22News from Hampden County District Attorney spokesperson Payton North, on Sunday, February 9th at around 7:45 p.m., Chicopee officers were called to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of the 1200 block of Abbey Memorial Drive. Crews working to put out fire on Monrovia Street in Springfield When officers arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from injuries. The woman, identified as 34-year-old Vanessa Perez of Springfield, died from her injuries in the ambulance. The roadway was closed for more than three hours during the investigation. The Hampden District Attorney's Office Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit in conjunction with the Chicopee Police Department continues to investigate.
