(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The earlier shelter-in-place has been lifted from the Lorson Ranch neighborhood, according to an updated Peak Alert. A shelter-in-place has been issued in Lorson Ranch due to a gas leak. According to a Peak Alert sent out by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO), the shelter-in-place is in effect for neighbors in the area north of Lorson Boulevard, South of Fontaine Boulevard, east of Lamprey Drive, and west of Walleye Drive due to a gas leak in the 11000 block of Pikeminnow Place. Neighbors in the warned area should close their doors and windows and turn off heating and cooling systems. Do not use open flames or anything that could cause a spark. According to a Peak Alert issued by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) shortly before 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, a shelter-in-place has been issued for the following area: The Peak Alert stated that the gas leak is happening near Londonderry Drive and Liberty Grove Drive. Neighbors are urged to stay indoors, close doors and windows, and turn off heating and cooling systems. Do not use open flames or anything that could cause a spark. This is a developing story. Pre-evacuations ordered for wildland fire near Wigwam

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — According to the Chief of the Hanover Fire Department, the fire near Wigwam west of I-25 has burned between 35-100 acres. Stratmoor Hills, Security, and Hanover Fire Departments are currently responding to the fire. The fire is not contained and crews are currently working on containment. The pre-evacuation notice remains in place. Pre-evacuation notices have been issued for a wildland fire south of Fountain. According to a Peak Alert sent to neighbors around 5:20 p.m. on Monday, March 3, the fire is burning near Boca Raton Heights and La Questa Drive, west of I-25 near Wigwam. The Cactus Creek Ranch neighborhood is under a pre-evacuation warning. EPSO said those under pre-evacuation should prepare to leave immediately. If you see flames or are in danger, leave now. High winds are expected Monday night, though the FOX21 News Storm Team said as of 5:30 p.m., the high winds are still several hours away.
