He is 5-foot-8 and about 161 pounds with a dark complexion, short hair, brown eyes and a beard. If seen, do not approach him and call 911. After a search warrant was executed in the Weston Rd.-Finch Ave. W. area, a youth was charged with 11 counts of theft under $5,000, 14 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and three counts each of robbery, possession of counterfeit money and obtain by false pretense under $5,000. Police said various electronic devices, including laptops, cellphones and watches estimated to be worth more than $27,000, were seized. OPP said officers from the Caledon Detachment determined the same man was allegedly responsible for a violent attack and a mischief incident over a two-day span. The first incident was an assault that allegedly occurred at a grocery store near Hwy. 50 and Queensgate Blvd. around 2:30 p.m. on Monday. 'Officers responded and after a thorough investigation determined the victim was assaulted with a weapon by an unknown individual,' the OPP alleged in a statement released Thursday. 'The suspect was described as a Caucasian male with short dark hair, wearing dark pants, a red and grey sweatshirt, black backpack, and carrying a green bag.' Just over 24 hours later, around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a report of mischief in a parking lot in the McEwan Dr. E.-Hwy. 50 area. 'Investigators learned that an unknown individual approached the victim's vehicle, slashed one of the tires and fled the scene,' the OPP said. 'The suspect description provided in this report was similar to the one acquired in the incident the day prior.' Suspicious man at Caledon North Hill Park

Children playing at North Hill Park were shocked when a stranger approached them with an invitation to visit his 'lair'. Caledon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were summoned to 14051 Highway 50 at about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Police were told a man approached the children and began speaking with them, and then invited the children to his lair to have a meal. The man is described having a thin build, aged 50-to-60, six feet tall and carrying a reusable green bag. Police are seeking information and advising the public to remain vigilant. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122 or provide information anonymously by contacting Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
