Thieves stole an ATM machine from TD branch in Brampton, bank says

Social Sharing An automated teller machine was stolen from a TD branch in Brampton on Thursday but no one was hurt in the early morning robbery, the bank has confirmed. Peel Regional Police said officers were called to the area of Queen Street E. and Rutherford Road N. in Brampton for an alarm call at about 4:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found that the building had been damaged. The robbery occurred at branch number 1180 on Queen Street E., according to Natasha Ferrari, senior manager, corporate communications for TD Bank Group. "TD is working with local authorities with their investigation and no injuries were reported," Ferrari said in an email on Thursday. The bank did not say how the ATM was stolen. Police would not confirm that an ATM was stolen but said the investigation is continuing. Ferrari said customers can go to two nearby TD branches that have ATMs with 24-hour access. These branches are located at 60 Peel Centre Dr. and 103 Brickyard Way. "We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this may cause and we greatly appreciate their patience," she said.

At least $6K in tools stolen from van in Guelph

Guelph Police are looking for tips after tools worth thousands of dollars were stolen from a van over the weekend. The employee of a company, based on Laird Road, told police the van had been parked in their lot when someone broke in and stole the tools. Items taken included a Honda generator, circular saw and impact driver. Police said the estimated cost was around $6,000 to $7,000. The employee also told officers they thought they saw some of the tools listed for sale in Peel Region. Police are asking anyone with information to call Const. 2 men charged in connection with kidnappings, robberies in Brampton

Two men from Peel Region have been arrested and charged following three kidnapping and robbery investigations in Brampton. Peel Regional Police (PRP) say they investigated three separate incidents between April and May where suspects allegedly used social media platforms to set up in-person meetings with victims 'under false pretenses.' 'Upon meeting with the suspects, [they] were allegedly met with violence and property was stolen,' police said, adding that two of the victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Following an investigation, 20-year-old Abhijot Singh, of Brampton, and 21-year-old Ridhampreet Singh, of Mississauga, were arrested on May 31. Abhijot Singh has been charged with two counts each of kidnapping and robbery with Firearm, and one count each of robbery and fraud, while Ridhampreet Singh has been charged with kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, and fraud. They were both held for a bail hearing and attended court in Brampton. An unknown number of suspects are still outstanding, PRP said. Police are reminding people to be careful when arranging to meet individuals they have met online, whether it be through dating apps, social media, or classified ads. (PRP photo) A 38-year-old man from Brampton is facing dozens of charges following an investigation into several commercial and office building break-ins. Peel Regional Police said the break-and-enters occurred from February to May 2025 in Brampton. Daniel Irvine, 38, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with 48 counts of break, enter and commit an indictable offence, and two counts of break, enter with intent to commit an indictable offence following a 'thorough investigation,' police said in a news release. The charges have not been proven in court. Irvine was held for a bail hearing and appeared in a Brmapton court. In an email to CTV News Toronto on Sunday, Peel Regional Police (PRP) said they were contacted at 5:36 p.m. on Saturday about a missing child in the area of Erindale Park, near Mississauga Road and Dundas Street West. 'The young child was located by first responders and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition,' they said. Despite life-saving efforts, the child, whose age is unknown at this time, was pronounced dead in hospital, PRP said. 'Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation, there is no further information to provide,' they wrote. In a previous post on X, police said they received a medical assist call at 3:36 p.m. on Saturday for a child that had wandered off in that area. They urged people to avoid the Erindale Park area. They later said that a pediatric patient was found in the water and that they transported them to the hospital in life-threatening condition. The scene of this incident is in the vicinity of University of Toronto's Erindale campus. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information should contact PRP or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
