Penguin City celebrates 5th annual Easter Bunny Brunch

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — It was a fun-filled day in Youngstown to celebrate Easter on Sunday. It was the fifth annual Easter Bunny Brunch at Penguin City Brewing Co. Families came out to enjoy a special buffet, take photos with the Easter Bunny, participate in an egg hunt and get a special visit from Alice in Wonderland. Event organizer Ashlea Duck says it was the second Bunny Brunch this month. She says the event brings the community together. 'Lots of smiles, as soon as the children walk in and they see the Easter Bunny and the balloons and the bubbles, they're super excited. Seeing a lot of people sit down and eat together, the tables are pushed together so we have a lot of mesh family, which builds a little bit of community. So, a lot of conversation and just a lot of good vibes today,' Duck said. Duck organizes all the events that happen at Penguin City on Sundays. Tino DiCenso contributed to this report. Youngstown event raises money to build homes for adults with autism

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Dylan's House hosted its third annual Sunday Funday at Penguin City Brewing Co. The organization raises money to build houses for adults with autism. They're inching closer to their first build in Struthers and a second in Boardman. On Sunday, they showed what one of the homes would look like. First News evening anchor Lindsey Watson was the emcee for the event. Founder Amy Shope is grateful for the growing community support over the years. 'It's been unbelievable. Our very first fundraiser, we weren't sure if anyone would show up, and really, ever since then, people have been packing the house every time we have something,' Shope said. All money from the event goes toward building more homes. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
