PennDOT seeking comments on Penn Avenue bridge project in Sinking Spring
PennDOT officials are seeking comments on a $2.5 million plan to replace a Penn Avenue bridge over the Cacoosing Creek in Sinking Spring.
Officials said in a release that the existing bridge is a single-span, reinforced concrete, T-Beam structure that was built in 1934 and is approaching its end of life.
The project is in the preliminary engineering phase. Bids on the project are expected next spring, with construction taking place in phases beginning in 2027.
Officials said those with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses and property owners who may be affected by the proposed project are encouraged to review the displays and submit comments or questions.
Comments will be accepted at through May 23, officials said.
