Sheetz MTO voted the "Coolest Thing Made in PA"
Gas station food punditz take note: Sheetz made-to-order (MTO) menu is the coolest thing made in Pennsylvania. Why it matters: Sheetz is a sanctuary for road-weary travelers, over-served college kids and 9-to-5ers alike. Jalapeno Popperz, are we right? Driving the news: In a 64-product bracket hosted by the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, Sheetz's MTO menu was crowned 2025's "Coolest Thing Made in PA," beating big names like Crayola Crayons, Hershey Bars, Yuengling and Eat'n Park's Smiley Cookie. The convenience store's eastern rival Wawa, based in Delaware County, was notably left out of the competition. By the numbers: More than 65,000 votes were recorded this year through the chamber's social media pages. Zoom in: Sheetz offers more than 400 made-to-order items, including burgers, tacos and wraps, 24/7. Customers can customize their drinks and meals, from bread and toppings to sauces. Add fried mozz sticks to your burger if you wish. What they're saying:"We are honored and so grateful,'" said marketing and supply chain VP Ryan Sheetz in a news release. Zoom out: The fan-driven bracket is a celebration of the Keystone State's manufacturing muscle. Last year's winner was a Primanti Bros. sandwich, a two-time reigning champion.

Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry lays out plan to help businesses grow
(WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry wants more people to grow their businesses and careers in the state, and their new roadmap shows how Pennsylvania can strengthen its economic competitiveness. The chamber said there are 62 available workers for every 100 jobs in the state, and it's causing Pennsylvania to fall behind other states in terms of growth. The Chamber looked at other states to identify areas for improvement and came up with more than 100 recommendations. However, they decided on prioritising seven in a keystone initiative to increase Pennsylvania's competitiveness. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. They added that they want to increase the population, which would, in turn, increase the workforce. 'What are the things we can do in terms of a business climate standpoint that would have companies growing jobs right here in Pennsylvania?' said Luke Bernstein, the Chamber's President and CEO. 'So, whether you're in Pennsylvania, how do you make your next investment here, or your company outside of Pennsylvania? How do you grow or make that next investment into Pennsylvania?' The Chamber and CEO say that the first step to launching the keystone initiative policy is that a policy change is needed. The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Kelly Loeffler was at Plouse Manufacturing in Highspire this morning to promote how restoring American Industry could lead to economic growth and high-paying jobs.
