Perlis Health director Dr Ghazali Chik said the incident occurred at 9.28 pm and the individual was identified as a 22-year-old civilian in a PPP uniform carrying a medical bag. 'The perpetrator admitted to purchasing the PPP uniform and medical equipment online. He impersonated a PPP due to his deep interest in the profession,' Dr Ghazali said in a statement tonight. 'JKN Perlis takes this matter seriously and has instructed the hospital to tighten security monitoring across its grounds,' Dr Ghazali said in a statement tonight. Dr Ghazali also reminded the public that impersonating a civil servant is a criminal offence under Section 170 of the Penal Code. 'HTF promptly informed the department's top management on the same day. A police report was filed regarding the incident on April 9, and further action against the perpetrator has been handed over to the authorities,' he added. Perlis Health director Dr Ghazali Chik said the incident occurred at 9.28pm and the individual was identified as a 22-year-old civilian in a assistant medical officer uniform carrying a medical bag. "The perpetrator admitted to purchasing the assistant medical officer uniform and medical equipment online. He impersonated a assistant medical officer due to his deep interest in the profession," Dr Ghazali said in a statement on Monday (April 21) night. Police on the trail of man posing as assistant medical officer
KANGAR: Police confirmed receiving a report about an incident of a 22-year-old man believed to be posing as an assistant medical officer in a hospital here whereby the video showing the man in full uniform like a health worker went viral on the TikTok platform yesterday. Kangar district police chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said police received a report about the man's impersonating act on April 9 and that now the police were investigating the case in detail under Section 170 of the Penal Code. 'Police have received a report and investigations are being carried out,' he said in a brief statement to reporters today. Bernama's check as of this writing found that the video had already been deleted through the TikTok account. Meanwhile, Perlis Health Director Dr Ghazali Chik said an official statement from his party about the incident would be issued after obtaining the approval of the top management from the Ministry of Health.
