Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud Sponsors Annual Ceremony for Forces Participating in Hajj Season
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, reviewed the readiness of the Hajj security forces to carry out their field duties in ensuring the safety and security of the pilgrims. This came during his patronage of the annual ceremony organized by the forces participating in this year's Hajj season, 1446. In a speech delivered during the event, the Director of Public Security and Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee, Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Bassami, affirmed that the wise leadership has mobilized all capabilities to serve the pilgrimage and care for the pilgrims, making it one of its highest priorities. He also noted that these great efforts have produced exemplary outcomes in managing human crowds, coordination, planning, and integration among the various sectors, thereby ensuring the intended goals and allowing the guests of God to enjoy the highest levels of safety and security. His Excellency stressed that the Hajj security forces are at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness, and are capable of dealing firmly and effectively with anything that may disrupt the security of the pilgrims or interfere with their performance of the rituals, thereby ensuring a secure environment for them to fulfill their religious duties. The ceremony included live field simulations reflecting various security scenarios, as well as a display of advanced security vehicles and equipment, including security aviation and specialized vehicles used during the Hajj season. Interior minister chairs Hajj committee meeting in Makkah, praises coordination efforts
Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, met on Thursday with Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy emir of Makkah Region and Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah, along with other committee members, at the Makkah Emirate headquarters. During the meeting, the interior minister emphasized the commitment of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to ensuring that pilgrims receive the highest standards of service, enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and comfort. Prince Abdulaziz praised the ongoing efforts and coordination between the Supreme Hajj Committee and the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah at the Makkah Emirate, stressing their shared role in advancing services for pilgrims during the Hajj season.

Makkah deputy governor reviews Hajj plans
MAKKAH: Prince Saud bin Mishaal, deputy governor of Makkah, chaired the first meeting of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah to review the plans and preparations for this year's Hajj season. The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing projects to support the pilgrimage, scheduled to be operational during the Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Prince Saud emphasized the importance of implementing the leadership's directives, which stress early preparation and coordination across all sectors to ensure top-quality services and comfort for pilgrims. He noted that the government of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has spared no effort in facilitating the pilgrimage, mobilizing all resources to ensure pilgrims perform their rituals with ease, peace of mind and security. Participating organisations presented updates on the readiness of their operational plans and the progress of development projects at the holy sites. The committee also reviewed afforestation and green cover initiatives aimed at planting 10,000 trees to improve air quality, reduce temperatures, and enhance the pilgrimage experience. Several other agenda items were discussed, and the committee issued the necessary recommendations, the SPA reported.

Hajj Permanent Committee meeting reviews progress rates of development projects at holy sites
Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — The first meeting of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah, chaired by Deputy Emir of Makkah Prince Saud bin Mishaal, reviewed the progress of development projects currently being implemented at the holy sites. The meeting was held in line with the directive of Advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Hajj and Umrah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. The committee reviewed the authorities' plans and preparations for the Hajj of 2025 and the progress rates of the ongoing projects, which will be operational during this year's Hajj. Addressing the meeting, Prince Saud bin Mishaal stressed the need to implement the leadership's directives, which always emphasize the importance of early preparation for the Hajj season and the integration of efforts across all sectors to provide the necessary services to the guests of God, in a way ensuring their highest levels of comfort. The meeting discussed the latest developments related to the full readiness of the operational plans of the relevant authorities to be implemented during the upcoming Hajj. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the development projects currently being implemented in the holy sites, most notably the restoration of the mosques in Mina and in Arafat, and the Kidana Company projects, including shading pedestrian paths in Mina over an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, shading and cooling paths in Arafat over an area of 60,000 square meters, installing canopies equipped with cooling mist fans in the Jabal al-Rahmah area over an area of approximately 785 square meters to reduce the impact of direct sunlight and moderate the climate, and a project to mitigate the impact of heat stress in the Namirah Mosque over an area of 85,000 square meters. The committee reviewed the afforestation and vegetation projects in the holy sites, which aim to plant 10,000 trees to improve air quality and help lower temperatures and reduce their impact on the guests of God, as well as the project to establish and develop 400 water coolers designated for drinking, and the establishment of rest areas for pilgrims covering an area of 28,000 square meters between the holy sites. The projects include the establishment of 15 emergency and first aid centers, in addition to 71 emergency and first aid launch centers distributed along the Hajj route. Their role focuses on providing urgent medical and therapeutic services, as well as logistical assistance to the pilgrims, such as distribution of water and snacks and offering guidance services. The progress of the implementation of the second phase of the Muzdalifah Haram Path Project also figured in the discussion of the meeting. This project, which covers an area of 170,000 square meters, includes the implementation of rubber flooring, green spaces, rest areas, water fountains, and misting fans. The project also includes the construction of 64 two-story restroom complexes, and renovation of135 compactor bin sites in Mina to increase waste storage capacity during the Hajj season.
