Mold's 'Live on the Square' a massive hit once more

Mold's Live on the Square has become a hit with locals and visitors alike over the years. Organised by volunteers Cllr. Pete Dando and Jim Evans with the help of Mold Town Council, this year's festival began at 12.30pm on Sunday (May 4) at Daniel Owen Square in the town - with acts planned up until 9.30pm. As well as food and drinks, the programme includes a full afternoon and evening of live performances comprising six bands and solo singers. Cllr Pete Dando told the Leader: "I'm so happy with the turnout - it's fantastic - but even more so with the weather. "We have a capacity of 800 people at the event, and we have sold out tickets. Everyone's having a great time and it's just brilliant to see. "There is a great atmosphere and it's bringing people together in the community." TOP STORIES TODAY Some of the acts who wowed the crowd on the day included; Fletch, David Murray, Joe Butler and the TTB. Taking to Facebook to reflect on the event, the Live on the Square team wrote: "So that's Live on the Square for another year and another sell out which again is amazing! "Sitting back at the end of the day when the final band was performing, and watching you all enjoying yourselves, makes you realise what a volunteer is about, to bring happiness and enjoyment to others, you are all ace!! Live on the Square '26 anyone?!!" Click on the gallery above to see some pictures from the event courtesy of Phil Tugwell.
