Carys Ann Roberts, 28, of Cross Hands Road, Gorslas, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to protected animals under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, by pouring boiling water and bleach on mice and/or rats on August 20, 2024 at Cross Hands. The animals sustained burns and died from their injuries. Roberts received an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and must carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. She was ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge and £400 in costs, and has been disqualified from owning or keeping animals for seven years.
Montgomery Jenkinson, 27, of Rhosmaen Street, Llandeilo is charged with failing to comply with a community order imposed by Swindon Magistrates' Court, in that on April 14, 2025 he allegedly did not present himself at his scheduled home visit for probation.
Jenkinson also faces three new charges allegedly committed on April 15, 2025 in Llandeilo and at Dafen Police Station. First, he is accused of criminal damage for urinating in a police caged van. Second, he is alleged to have been in possession of an offensive weapon, namely an axe, in a public place. Third, he is charged with further criminal damage for allegedly urinating on the floor of a police cell. He entered not guilty pleas, and these matters were adjourned for further hearings.
Ryan Thomas, 30, of Knox Road, Cardiff faces allegations of burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, and criminal damage at addresses in Llandovery, Llandybie and Glanamman. He is accused of entering addresses in Llandovery and Llandybie on March 31, 2023 as a trespasser with intent to steal, taking a Volvo S80 without consent in Llandybie and causing under £5000 damage to that vehicle, and on April 1, 2023, at Petroexpress Glanamman causing criminal damage valued at £17,820. Thomas was remanded in custody pending his next appearance.
Stuart Rees, 26, of Westbury Street, Llanelli, indicated a guilty plea to inflicting grievous bodily harm at the Abadam Arms in Porthyrhyd on December 22, 2022, contrary to section 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. He was committed to crown court for sentencing on May 8, 2025 and granted bail until that date.
Lynn Powell, 61, of Capel Isaac, Llandeilo, faces three counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm, or distress, contrary to section 4A of the Public Order Act 1986. It is alleged that on October 9, 2024 at Llandeilo, Powell directed threatening or abusive words or behaviour toward three different complainants. She pleaded not guilty to all counts. She has been remanded on conditional bail until a trial scheduled for June 5, 2025.
