Town of Lee supervisor candidate accused of stealing opponent's signs
TOWN OF LEE, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A candidate for town supervisor in the Town of Lee has been arrested by New York State Police for allegedly stealing his opponent's campaign signs. The Daily Sentinel first reported that 54-year-old Joseph Mooney of Ava allegedly stole a campaign sign for Lawrence James — his opponent in the Republican primary race for the Town of Lee Supervisor — from the parking lot of his business on Turin Road. While Mooney owns the business — a pizzeria and tavern in the town — another person, Mark Petroski, owns the land that is leased for the business's parking lot and was allowed to use a portion of the land for his own use. Petroski claims he posted the sign for James on Saturday, and it went missing shortly after. When troopers came to investigate, they found the campaign sign in a dumpster behind the business, which was returned to its owner. Petroski said he posted a second sign — along with a trail camera, which caught Mooney allegedly removing the sign. That tape was turned over to New York State Police, who arrested Mooney. Mooney was charged with one count of petit larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was released on an appearance ticket, which can be returned to the Town of Lee Court at a later date. Andre Petroski working on fight-life balance with kindergarten school work, Bo Nickal callout
LAS VEGAS – Andre Petroski beat Rodolfo Vieira with a unanimous decision Saturday to open up the main card at UFC Fight Night 251 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Take a look inside the fight with Petroski, who made a big callout of Bo Nickal in the middleweight division. Andre Petroski def. Rodolfo Vieira Result: Andre Petroski def. Rodolfo Vieira via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Updated records: Petroski (13-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) def. Rodolfo Vieira (10-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) Key stats: Petroski stuffed 10 of Vieira's 11 takedown attempts. Petroski on the fight's key moment 'I'm pretty sore. He landed a lot of leg kicks, for sure. My legs are beat up. Offensively, I threw a lot, too. So a good win – a very respectable feather in the cap, for sure. I'm very happy. I expected to throw a lot of light kicks, for sure. That was something we knew – he doesn't really check a lot of leg kicks, so that was something that we game planned for. That was definitely the strategy.' Petroski on Vieira's durability 'He didn't go away. After the first round, I remember my coaches saying, 'Dude, he's tired. He's tired. And I looked over, and he did look tired in between the first and the second. Maybe I didn't put my foot on the pedal as much as I could have, especially in the second round. He didn't go away. I hit him with a lot. I kicked the sh*t of his legs, and he just didn't quit.' Petroski on what he wants next 'I've got to go home and be a father. It's tough when you're focused on fighting all the time. It's hard to be in that mindset. I love my kids, but it's definitely something I need to work on for sure. I'm there, but I can get better.'
