Mohalajeng hails the Vultures Athletics Club Gijima Road Race a success

SEBOKENG.- Petrus Mohalajeng has hailed the Vultures Athletics Club Gijima Road Race as a great success. This 5km and 10km road race took place at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng, last Sunday. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mohalajeng, who was the organiser of the race, said the race attracted several runners in Gauteng. He said that he was overwhelmed by the number of athletes who came to support this initiative. He also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the Zone 14 area came to a standstill as the nearby community was out on the streets watching the race. Mohalajeng said the competition was strict with runners setting the bar very high on the day. He added that he was amazed by the high standard from all the participants, from juniors, seniors, masters, and grand masters. Toma Tsotetsi, Florence Molawa, and Palius Mofokeng were among the notable names who participated in this event. 'I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the runners who won their respective categories. It was a great day, with athletes showcasing their talent. I was happy to see some former athletes coming in numbers to support this initiative. I do not doubt that, if we continue to support each other like on Sunday, we are going to go far in the region as far as athletics is concerned,' said Mohalajeng.
