Peyton Manning accidentally builds hype for Bengals throwback jerseys
The Cincinnati Bengals might not be announcing alternate jerseys or even throwback looks this season. But a recent appearance by Peyton Manning sure doesn't hurt as a hyper-builder. Manning showed up at Cincinnati in throwback Bengals attire this week, donning the No. 14 of Ken Anderson and Sam Wyche. He's coming off wrapping up the "Quarterback" show on Netflix that features Joe Burrow and also heavily features the Bengals on his "Peyton's Places" documentary show on ESPN+ that puts the spotlight on the past. While the Bengals don't have any official announcements on alternate jerseys or throwbacks yet, there's an anniversary looming in the next few years. In the meantime, the NFL quietly expanded the use of alternate or throwback jerseys to four times per season for each team and a new alternate jersey partnership will see the Bengals get at least one new set of jerseys in 2028. Until then, here's a bit of Manning, coincidentally building Bengals throwback jersey hype. Tom Brady booed at Indy 500 by Colts fans still upset about the Patriots' dominance
It's been over a decade since the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts played against each other in the playoffs, but Colts fans don't forget. During a pre-race appearance at the Indy 500 on Sunday, Tom Brady was greeted with a shower of boos from bitter Indianapolis fans. Brady served two roles at the event. He took part in Fox's broadcast, but also performed a ceremonial first lap with Jimmie Johnson before the race. Advertisement Prior to that lap, Brady — clad in his racing uniform — was announced to all fans attending the event. He was loudly booed. Brady took it all in stride, however, smiling and waving to acknowledge that response. Colts fans have a few reasons to still hold some anger toward Brady. Over his Hall of Fame career, Brady's biggest nemesis and rival was Colts legend Peyton Manning. The two squared off in some excellent contests during their prime, with Brady often getting the best of the Colts. Over his career, Brady holds a 12-3 record vs. Indianapolis during the regular season. The Colts seemed to bring out the best in Brady, who threw 33 touchdowns in 15 games against Indianapolis. That is Brady's highest touchdown total against any team outside the AFC East. Advertisement The two teams also met five times in the playoffs with Brady under center. Brady was 4-1 in those contests, throwing six touchdowns against three interceptions. The Colts only playoff win over Brady came in 2007, when the team defeated the Patriots in the AFC Championship. The Colts went on to win the Super Bowl that season, so it was a pretty significant victory. While Colts fans aren't over the Brady years, one person directly involved in those games has come to terms with the rivalry. Manning and Brady are cordial in retirement, with Manning even making an appearance at Brady's Patriots Hall of Fame ceremony to reminisce. The two have also appeared together on Manning's ESPN show "Peyton's Places." If Sunday's reaction was any indication, Colts fans may need a bit more time before burying that hatchet.

Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning named most relatable athlete
Who do you think of when you think of a "relatable celebrity?" Well, a recent study showed Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning to be the most relatable athlete. "Hirsch Leatherwood, a leading strategic communications and market research firm, unveiled its '2025 Celebrity Influence Index,' a comprehensive study revealing how celebrity influence has evolved in an era of fragmented media and changing consumer expectations," said a press release from the study on March 4th. Americans were asked this simple question: "Who would you want to grab a beer with?" Out of 50 choices, Manning was found to be the most relatable athlete, and the fourth-most relatable celebrity. Manning came in behind only actress Zendaya, and singer/songwriters Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg. Part of Manning's charm lies in his humor, and his ability to market darn near anything. From FanDuel to baked beans, Manning has been one of the best athlete marketers of the 21st century. Since his retirement, the elder Peyton has teamed up with younger brother Eli (No. 30 on the relatability list) to do alternate Monday Night Football broadcasts with Eli. Manning's Omaha Productions company has also come out with several successful series, such as Peyton's Places, Eli's Places, Netflix's Quarterback, among others. Manning starred for the Denver Broncos from 2011-2015, after a successful run with the Indianapolis Colts. His gold jacket resume includes four NFL MVP awards, two Super Bowl wins and one Super Bowl MVP. You can view the full results of the study here.
