19-year-old dies days after GA shooting that also killed 5-year-old
A teen who was in critical condition after being shot Saturday night has died, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Jotavis Roshon Leverette, 19, was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries. The GBI said five-year-old Peyton Brielle Roberts, of Americus, also died in the shooting. The incident occurred on Feb. 8, around 8:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Eastview Circle. Peyton Brielle Roberts, a 5-year-old girl, died after being taken to Phoebe Sumter Hospital; a 19-year-old male is in critical condition, and a third victim has non-life-threatening injuries. GBI agents are conducting witness interviews to uncover the circumstances of the shooting, but no arrests have been made yet.
