The city says there is an administrative investigation in which the police chief is named. O'Malley has served as Pflugerville's police chief since Sept. 2021. He joined the department in 2020. Lieutenant Chet Vronka will lead the department until the city can select a new chief. Vronka has been a member of the Pflugerville Police Department since June 2001. An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing teenager and an infant, both of whom were last seen Friday, May 9 in Pflugerville, authorities said. According to Pflugerville police, 15-year-old Daela Diaz and 11-month-old Christoher Roman were last seen at 8 p.m. at the 17600 Block of Cipremont Lane, about 20 miles northeast of downtown Austin. Diaz is described as Hispanic female with brown hair, brown eyes, 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 160 ponds. She was last seen wearing a black dress with black and white Jordan tennis shoes, authorities said. Roman is described as Hispanic male with brown hair, brown eyes, 2 feet tall and weighing about 23 pounds. He was last seen wearing all gray clothes and Nike shoes, authorities said. Law enforcement officials believe these children may be in grave or immediate danger, authorities said.
