Starlink goes live in Bahrain
Starlink, the satellite internet venture developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, has officially launched its high-speed service in Bahrain. The company confirmed the rollout through its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
This launch follows the telecommunications licence granted by Bahrain's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in 2022, allowing Starlink to provide satellite-based internet services across the country. TRA Director General Philippe Marnik welcomed the development, stating, 'This reinforces our commitment to providing advanced telecommunications solutions that support the Kingdom's development vision and meet the aspirations of the public and private sectors.'
Starlink's entry into Bahrain is part of its growing global footprint, with services now available in more than 125 countries as of May 2025. The technology relies on a dense network of low Earth orbit satellites, enabling high-speed, low-latency connectivity even in remote and underserved areas.
Beyond homes and businesses, Starlink also supports mobile sectors such as aviation and maritime transport, presenting new opportunities for innovation in logistics and mobility
