Netflix You season 5 cast: Every character returning to Joe Goldberg's You for final chapter
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for You season five.
You season five brings the Joe Goldberg saga to a close with numerous familiar faces making a comeback for the last installment.
Picking up three years after the events of season four, Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) is now living in New York with his wife Kate Lockwood (Charlotte Ritchie) and their son Henry.
However, it's not long before Joe's gaze falls on Bronte (Madeline Brewer), a talented but troubled writer who works at Mooney's bookstore.
Bronte is struggling to shake off her abusive ex-boyfriend Clayton (Tom Francis), and her sudden disappearance sets off alarm bells for Joe.
Determined to find her, Joe tracks Bronte down to a beach house where he suspects Clayton is holding her captive. After reuniting with Bronte, the two share a romantic encounter, solidifying their "star-crossed lovers" connection.
But when Joe investigates strange noises downstairs, he discovers Clayton threatening Bronte, leading to a violent confrontation that ends with Joe overpowering Clayton and delivering a fatal blow to the fireplace.
In an unexpected plot twist, Dominique (Natasha Benham) appears on the scene, having live-streamed the entire ordeal on social media as Bronte stands by, holding a taser.
In the subsequent episode, it's revealed that Bronte had been catfishing Joe as a means of seeking revenge for her friend Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and justice for Dr Nicky (John Stamos), Clayton's father.
This catfishing saga triggers the reappearance of several familiar faces in episodes six and seven, titled The Dark Face Of Love and #JoeGoldberg.
Every returning character in You season 5
Guinevere Beck
You season five sees the return of series one's Guinevere Beck in flashback moments.

Central to Bronte's catfishing scheme is her bond with Beck, who served as her TA while she was studying writing after moving to New York. Beck inspired her to persist with her writing, even when her mother fell ill.
As Bronte recounts the events, a flashback shows her meeting with Beck, who walks into the room while still on a call with Joe.
It's only after Bronte reads Beck's posthumously published book The Dark Face Of Love, that she begins to suspect something amiss.
Beck cites author Ibsen, whom Bronte knows Beck isn't fond of, leading her to suspect that someone else had a hand in penning the novel.
Nadia
You season five sees the return of You season four star Nadia, played by Amy-Leigh Hickman.

In the fourth installment, Joe had framed Nadia (Amy-Leigh Hickman) for her boyfriend's murder, resulting in her imprisonment. She remained silent out of fear that he might target her family.
Fortunately, her story didn't end there as Kate managed to secure her release so they could join forces to bring Joe down once and for all.
Phoebe
You season four star Lady Phoebe is returning for the final season.

The fourth season sees the return of another familiar face, Lady Phoebe (Tilly Cooper), who dashes to New York to support her pal Kate in a dire moment after she uncovers Joe's true nature.
Marienne
You season three star Marienne is back for the final season of the Netflix drama.
(Image: NETFLIX)
Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) was the object of Joe's obsession during the third season, even as he was wed to Love.
Once she grasped the reality of Joe's character, she hurriedly left the country with her daughter.
However, in the current series, despite Joe's disassociative spells, he manages to locate and imprison Marienne for an extended period. It's not until Nadia steps in that Marienne, with her assistance, is able to stage her death and finally escape Joe's torment.
Nevertheless, Marienne makes a bold comeback in season five, teaming up with Nadia and Kate to enact her vengeance.
Dottie
You season five will see the brief return of Love and Forty's mum Dottie.
(Image: NETFLIX)
As for Dottie, it's in the seventh episode when Joe browses social media that he is confronted by apparitions from his history.
Love (Victoria Pedretti) and Forty Quinn's (James Scully) mother, Dottie (Saffron Burrows) from the second and third seasons, uploads a video vilifying her ex-son-in-law.
She proclaims: "He [Joe] killed both my babies. Love and Forty are both dead because of him. I haven't seen my grandson Henry in years.
"He made everyone think I was the crazy one but no, he's the crazy one."
Sherry and Cary
You season three stars Sherry and Cary will appear in season five.
(Image: NETFLIX)
Notorious couple Sherry (Shalita Grant) and Cary (Travis Van Winkle), also reappear as Joe and Love's irksome social media influencer neighbors who find themselves confined.
The post arguably defends Joe, making it clear that Love was the one who confined them in a cage, and not Joe. In his thoughts he remarks, "I'll take the support where I can get it."
Annika Atwater
Peach Salinger's acquaintance from the first season, Annika Atwater (portrayed by Kathryn Gallagher), chimed in: "He absolutely killed my best friend Peach. He hated her."
Joe responds: "Peach was self-defense and I don't even remember your name."
Paco
You season five will see Paco briefly return, the little boy that Joe Goldberg helped in the first series.
(Image: NETFLIX)
Returning from the inaugural series is Paco (played by Luca Padovan), the youth who idolized Joe as he was desperate to escape his mother's abusive boyfriend Ron Baker.
Staying true to Joe's character, he 'assisted' Paco by dispatching probation officer Ron Baker, who to this day is still considered missing.
In his internet post, Paco attempts to justify Joe's actions, with the stalker-turned-killer referring to him as an "angel".
But he doesn't end up helping Joe when he then shares: "Joe was my neighbor when I was a kid. My mom dated this guy who was really abusive and Joe literally saved us."
To which Joe internally lashes out: "No, no, don't share the incriminating part. Shut the f*** up Paco."
Ethan
You season one star Ethan will have a cameo role in You season five.
(Image: NETFLIX)
Ethan Russell (interpreted by Zach Cherry), who worked for Joe in the debut series of You, mentioned that he always saw him as a "good dude".
He then, unfortunately for Joe, goes onto say: "But I make it a practice to believe the victims. I can't prove that the basement of Mooney's was haunted, even though it 100% was which is why I never went down there.
"Like I can't definitively rule out that Joe murdered a f*** ton of people."
Will
You season two star Will Bettelheim will feature in the final series.
(Image: NETFLIX)
In episode five, it's revealed that Joe's "friend in Manila" is none other than Will Bettlelheim (Robin Lord Taylor) from the second season.
Initially introduced as a hacker who drops new identities on Craigslist, when Joe is looking to make another fresh start, he reconnects with the familiar face from the show's previous chapter.
You is available to watch on Netlfix.
