Agniveers take oath at passing out parade in Varanasi
VARANASI: A total of 197 Agniveers took the solemn oath to serve the nation during a grand and impressive Passing Out Parade held at the Gorkha Training Centre, Varanasi, on Tuesday.
The parade was reviewed by Brigadier Anirban Datta, SM, Commandant, 39 Gorkha Training Centre.
The ceremony marked the culmination of 31 weeks of rigorous Basic and Advanced Combat Training, transforming spirited young men into disciplined, mentally agile, and battle-hardened soldiers. Known for their exceptional training standards, Gorkha Training Centres continue to shape the future of the Indian Army by producing robust and mission-ready personnel.
These Agniveers will now join various operational units deployed in active field areas to safeguard the nation and parade was attended by a large gathering, including proud parents of the passing out Agniveers, distinguished veterans, and eminent personalities from Varanasi. It was a magnificent display of military precision and discipline. The synchronised movements, crisp drill, and immaculate turnout of the Agniveers left the audience spellbound.

As the squads marched past the saluting dais and presented arms, the air was filled with thunderous applause. The inspiring sight of confident, well-trained young soldiers brought tears of pride and joy to the eyes of their families and well-wishers.
In recognition of outstanding performance during training, the Agniveers were awarded medals, including the Best in Battle Physical Efficiency Test to Karan Bhattarai, Best in Drill to Arun Tamang, 2nd All Round Best to Suraj Gurung, and Best in Tactics, Firing & Overall Best to Vidansh Bisht.
