Oreo Fans Say Unhinged New Creation Is a 'Shame': 'This Has to Stop'

Once upon a time, pickles were the thing that all the kids scrunched their noses at and quickly picked off their burgers. Oddly, many of those same kids have grown up to buy pickle-flavored potato chips, pickle falafels, pickle shots, and just straight up jars of the tangy green things. Yes, pickles have been having their moment for quite some time now. And unfortunately, Oreo is jumping on the chance to torture us with even more pickle content. In a recent post to Oreo's instagram, the brand posted a reel where someone puts a pickle in the middle of an Oreo cookie (as in, between the cream and one of the wafers), then proceeds to dunk it in batter and deep fry the whole thing. You can see the unhinged post for yourself below. They added a brief caption: 'Pickles and OREO cookies…even better together 😋.' But Oreo fans were quick to refute that assertion. 'I love y'all but no,' said one commenter. 'what did I do to you to deserve this 😢😂,' added another disappointed fan. Still others went further, responding with 'Nah this is a crime against nature,' and even 'What a shame, to see my idol descend into madness.' Of course, a few misguided souls did reply a bit more favorably, with comments like, 'NOOOOOOO but would I try them? Yes.' and 'I would try this!🔥👏🙌❤️.' Related: …Really, though? Anyhow, this recipe and reel are both total chaos in the worst way. One IG follower, though, made a poignant observation: 'Is this a pregnancy announcement. New mini Oreo flavor coming soon? 😂' I mean…maybe? Perhaps? That would be one way of announcing that, anyway. The good news is that absolutely zero people can be seen tasting (much less enjoying) the fright fest. But it's not the first time the idea of pickles and Oreos has been introduced. In 2019, a chain of candy shops on the east coast was selling chocolate-covered Oreos that happened to have a slice of dill pickle in the middle. And then there's this YouTube video from WrecklessEating, where they try to recreate horrifying Photoshopped food ideas (such as an actual Pickle Oreo) and then eat them. After putting a pickle in the middle of their cookies and then dousing them in pickle juice (WHY!?), they each take a bite. And while one of the hosts looks like he's about to hurl, the other actually says, 'It's actually not too bad.' You do you, my man. Up Next:
