Pierce O'Leary and Conor Wallace earn points victories
Pierce O'Leary won the EBU European title on Saturday as the Dublin boxer enjoyed the biggest victory of his career so far.
O'Leary defeated England's Liam Dillon at Portman Road, the home of Ipswich Town, on the undercard of Fabio Wardley v Justis Huni.
The 25-year-old follows the likes of Carl Frampton and Bernard Dunne in capturing a EBU European title, claiming a points victory by 116-112, 115-113 and 117-112.
The super lightweight has a perfect record of 17 wins from as many fights, with the Queensbury fighter hoping to enter world level in 2026.
Elsewhere, Newry boxer Conor Wallace came through against Dylan Colin, also a unanimous win, by 77-75, 78-74, 77-75 in a light heavyweight contest at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in Australia.
Wallace moved to 16-1 and is on the verge of a world title shot.
Dmitry Bivol was the undisputed champion at the weight after his win against Artur Beterbiev, but has since relinquished the WBC title and more belts could open up soon.
