Man accused of drunkenly running over woman in Pike County campground

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A man from Beaver Dam is charged with attempted murder in Pike County after allegedly running over his friend during an argument. According to an affidavit, Pike County Central Dispatch received a call that two people were believed to be intoxicated in a Pike State Forest Campground campsite next to him. The caller also claimed one of them drove their car into a tent. Officials state when authorities arrived, a white Chevrolet Impala was seen with flattened front end, a concrete picnic table was damaged and a tent that was flattened. A man reportedly stumbled over to a Pike County deputy and claimed he and a friend got into an argument over pants. The male was later identified as Travis Deceuninck. Deceuninck went on to claim he asked his friend to bring him new pants because he soiled himself, and he was taking her to North Carolina to 'get fixed'. Deceuninck also said he had picked her up in his car three times and was chaotic each time because of her behavior. Officials state Deceuninck later admitted he and his friend had been drinking heavily. The female was identified as Megan Manson. She claimed they were arguing about one of the dogs. She also claimed Deceuninck got into his car, drove over the tent and into the picnic table, causing the picnic table to collapse. Manson claimed she was trying to save one of her dogs from getting hurt. She was complaining of several injuries with one of her socks being soaked in blood with an abnormal lump. EMS believed that her foot was broken. She was taken to an area hospital. Deceuninck was detained, and during a portable breath test, a reading claimed Deceuninck's BAC level was .330. After getting medical clearance, Deceuninck was booked into the Pike County Jail for Attempted Murder, Battery-Deadly Weapon, Battery-Serious Bodily Injury and Criminal Mischief.
