Police Scotland sends report to prosecutors after Glasgow councillor charged with fraud

Labour veteran Frank McAveety was arrested and charged earlier this year in connection with fraud offences. Police have sent a report to prosecutors after a former Labour leader of Glasgow City Council was charged with fraud offences. ‌ Frank McAveety is a former Labour MSP and Cabinet Minister who also led the council on two occasions. ‌ A spokesperson for Police Scotland said in April: 'A 62-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with fraud offences in the Glasgow area between 2022 and 2024. ‌ 'A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.' The force has now told the Record a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
