Ready to shake it for Luke Bryan? What to know about tickets, parking at JetBlue Park
Country superstar Luke Bryan makes history this month at Fort Myers' JetBlue Park. He'll be the first major musical act to perform in the Fenway South stadium — the popular spring training home of the Boston Red Sox. JetBlue has previously hosted big festivals on the grounds outside the baseball field, including the former Fort Rock music festival. But organizers say this is the first time a major artist will perform on the baseball field, itself. And more concerts are coming, according to Sam Kennedy, president and CEO of the Red Sox. No other shows have been announced yet, though. 'For over a decade, JetBlue Park has been the heart of Red Sox baseball in Southwest Florida, and now we're excited to expand its role as an entertainment destination,' Kennedy said in a March news release. 'Live music is such a huge part of the Fenway Park experience (in Boston) and bringing that tradition to Fort Myers has been a longtime goal.' For many audience members, this will be their first time seeing a concert at JetBlue Park. Here's everything you need to know about getting Luke Bryan tickets and seeing shows in Fenway South: The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in JetBlue Park at Fenway South, 11500 Fenway South Drive, south Fort Myers. It's part of Luke Bryan's Country Song Came On Tour. Bryan will be joined in Fort Myers by several opening acts, including Conner Smith, Ashland Craft, Adrien Nunez and DJ Rock. Bryan previously performed in Southwest Florida in November 2022 at Hertz Arena. During his career, Bryan has racked up 22.6 billion music streams, 11.5 million album sales and 55.5 million track sales, according to the March news release. His many country hits include 'Country Girl (Shake It For Me),' 'Play It Again,' 'That's My Kind of Night,' 'I Don't Want This Night To End,' 'Drunk On You' and 'Knocking Boots.' Bryan is also well-known as an 'American Idol' judge. He joined the TV singing competition in 2018 and ended up being coach to Estero teenager Casey Bishop, a rock singer who placed fourth on the show in 2021. To learn more about Luke Bryan and the tour, visit Tickets are $73-$137, including all fees. Options include box seats, the grandstand and "floor seating" on the turf in front of the stage. To get tickets, visit Parking at JetBlue Park opens at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14 — two hours before doors to the stadium open at 5 p.m. No tailgating will be permitted. Once the parking lot and fields fill up around JetBlue, people will be directed to official parking areas off site, according to a Red Sox publicist. Parking costs $30 per vehicle if purchased online before show day at The price goes to $35 on Saturday. You can only pay via a credit card. No cash will be accepted. Onsite parking is limited, however. Attendees are encouraged to carpool or use ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft. Any off-site parking areas that charge more than $35 aren't managed by JetBlue, according to a Red Sox publicist. The food offerings for the Luke Bryan concert are similar to Red Sox spring training events. Food-services company Aramark will sell hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn, peanuts and more. Plus beer, wine, mixed drinks, bottled water and soda. Other vendors include Del's Lemonade, Dippin' Dots and Maine Shack (which sells New England seafood). To ensure everyone's safety, all visitors to JetBlue Park will be subject to screening through metal detectors and — on occasion — a physical search by a trained team member, according to a concert news release. All bags, and personal items are subject to a physical inspection before entering JetBlue Park. Purses and bags must be single-compartment and no bigger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. No backpacks, backpack-style purses, duffel bags and other multi-compartment bags are allowed (except for diaper bags and bags containing essential medical equipment). To speed up the entry process, the Red Sox encourage visitors to use single-compartment, clear bags that are no bigger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Clear backpacks aren't allowed. These items aren't allowed inside JetBlue Park: Bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches; Firearms, including those held by lawfully-licensed individuals or off-duty police officers (that restriction includes ammunition); Knives, box cutters and tools of any kind (including Leatherman multi-tools), or any item that could be used as a weapon; Marijuana (including medical marijuana); Pepper spray or mace; Hard-sided coolers; Cans, bottles and glass containers (except one sealed 16-ounce plastic bottle of water); Alcoholic beverages or illegal substances; Noise-making devices; Laser pointers or similar devices that could be used to disrupt the event; Costumes or costume masks; And clothing determined to be offensive or disruptive by Red Sox management, including items displaying offensive or hateful content. Umbrellas are allowed in JetBlue Park, although park management prefers people bring rain jackets instead. The concert will happen rain or shine, according to a Red Sox publicist. Professional audio/visual equipment is prohibited, such as tripods, monopods and detachable lenses longer than 6 inches. Consumer-rated cameras and video cameras are OK, but audience members aren't allowed to interfere with other people's enjoyment of the show or to shoot the entire show for posting online. Luke Bryan Says He's Gotten Confused for Another Country Star In His Hometown: 'That Has Been My Worst Thing'
As it turns out, Luke Bryan has a country music doppelgänger! During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, April 15, the "Play It Again" singer revealed that he was once mistaken from Blake Shelton in his hometown. "My gas station that I live nearby... one of the attendants that works the cash register [mistook] me for Blake Shelton. That has been my worst thing in the neighborhood," Bryan, 48, revealed. "He was so convinced. He's like, 'You're Blake Shelton. Tell me about being Blake Shelton.' He goes, 'Do you get that a lot?' I said, 'Not much,'" he recalled. Related: Luke Bryan Hoped Katy Perry's Blue Origin Space Flight Wouldn't 'Blow Up': 'I Wanted It to Not Do That' The "Strip It Down" singer continued, "The guy looked and me, and he's like, 'You are Blake Shelton's doppelgänger... and he goes, 'Could you imagine what it would be like to have Blake Shelton's money?'" Bryan then joked, "I said, 'Oh, what it must be like.'" Kimmel, 57, proceeded to ask Bryan who does have more money and Bryan confidently said "me." Bryan's friendship with Shelton, 48, goes way back. In April of last year, the "Sangria" singer told PEOPLE that Bryan pitched a spinoff of Shelton's Barmageddon show titled Farmageddon. "He's got a lot of stupid ideas, but he's got a lot of ideas," Shelton joked of the alcohol-infused farm-based pitch. "He's constantly trying to come up with what's next. That's why he's been so successful, because he never stops thinking and stuff. Eventually he hits on something." Meanwhile, in 2022, Bryan joined Ty Bentli on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show and addressed the field feud between them, claiming that he's the better farmer. Related: American Idol's Zaylie Windsor Proves Luke Bryan Wrong with Showstopper Performance. Then He Predicts She'll Make Top 10 "He's pretend farming," the "Drink a Beer" singer said of Shelton, as the host asked what Shelton does "down there" on his Oklahoma ranch. "I mean, he's just putting out like wild grasses — stuff that literally will grow on Mars," Bryan said. "I'm actually planting stuff that human beings can enjoy. I'm not feeding a bunch of rabbits and moles and stuff. Blake's farming earthworms and stuff." As of late, Bryan has resumed his position as judge on American Idol and he's gearing up for his annual Farm Tour, which kicks off on May 15. Then, on May 29, he'll embark on his Country Song Came on Tour. Read the original article on People

Tony Roberts, Broadway star and actor in Woody Allen films, dies
The Brief Tony Roberts, the Broadway actor who starred alongside Woody Allen in several of his films, has died. Tony Roberts, the Tony-nominated Broadway star who appeared in several Woody Allen movies, has died. He was 85. Roberts' daughter, actor Nicole Burley, confirmed his death to The New York Times. "I've never been particularly lucky at card games. I've never hit a jackpot. But I have been extremely lucky in life," he wrote in his memoir, "Do You Know Me?" "Unlike many of my pals, who didn't know what they wanted to become when they grew up, I knew I wanted to be an actor before I got to high school." Roberts had a genial stage personality perfect for musical comedy and he originated roles in such diverse Broadway musicals as "How Now, Dow Jones" (1967); "Sugar" (1972), an adaptation of the movie "Some Like It Hot," and "Victor/Victoria" (1995), in which he co-starred with Julie Andrews when she returned to Broadway in the stage version of her popular film. He also was in the campy, roller-disco "Xanadu" in 2007 and "The Royal Family" in 2009. RELATED: Music producer Irv Gotti dead at 54: reports Roberts also appeared on Broadway in the 1966 Woody Allen comedy "Don't Drink the Water," repeating his role in the film version, and in Allen's "Play It Again, Sam" (1969), for which he also made the movie. Other Allen films in which Roberts appeared were "Annie Hall" (1977), "Stardust Memories" (1980), "A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy" (1982), "Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986) and "Radio Days" (1987). Among his other movies were "Serpico" (1973) and "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three" (1974). He was nominated twice for a Tony Award — for "How Now, Dow Jones" and "Play It Again, Sam," when he was billed as Anthony Roberts. One of Roberts' biggest Broadway successes was Charles Busch's hit comedy "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife" (2000), in which he played the title character's husband. Roberts, who made his Broadway debut in 1962 in the short-lived "Something About a Soldier," also was a replacement in some of its longest-running hits including "Barefoot in the Park," "Promises, "Promises," "They're Playing Our Song," "Jerome Robbins' Broadway," "The Sisters Rosensweig" and the 1998 Roundabout Theatre Company revival of "Cabaret." In London, he starred with Betty Buckley in the West End production of "Promises, Promises," playing the Jack Lemmon role in this stage version of "The Apartment." Roberts' television credits include the short-lived series "The Four Seasons" (1984) and "The Lucie Arnaz Show" (1985) as well as guest spots on such well-known shows as "Murder, She Wrote" and "Law & Order." The backstory Roberts was born in New York on Oct. 22, 1939, the son of radio and television announcer Ken Roberts. "I was raised in the middle of a lot of actor talk," he told the AP in 1985. "My cousin was Everett Sloane, who was a very fine actor. My father's friends were mostly actors. I'm sure that in some way I needed to prove myself in their eyes." He attended the High School of Music and Art in New York and graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois. His marriage to Jennifer Lyons ended in divorce. He is survived by his daughter.
