'We Are In It Together': MI's Post For Captain Hardik Pandya Goes Viral
Last Updated: Hardik Pandya led the Mumbai Indians in 15 matches of IPL 2025 and won nine of them. He finished the season with 224 runs and 14 wickets. Mumbai Indians' campaign in the ongoing 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an end on Sunday (June 1). The Mumbai-based franchise suffered a heartbreaking defeat by five wickets against Punjab Kings in the second qualifier match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. MI, after being invited to bat first by PBKS, posted a total of 203 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets, but the Shreyas Iyer-led side rode on his unbeaten 87-run knock to chase down the 204-run target in 19 overs for the loss of five wickets. The win over MI helped PBKS book a place in the IPL 2025 final, where they will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (June 3). A day after MI's hopes of winning their sixth IPL title ended, the franchise took to X to share a post for captain Hardik Pandya, who faced criticism from certain sections of fans for his ordinary performances in this year's IPL. In a tweet for Hardik, which is now going viral on the internet, MI wrote, 'MI's proud of you and the grit the team showed throughout the season. Through wins and through losses, we are in it together, HP." MI's proud of you and the grit the team showed throughout the season. Through wins and through losses, we are in it together, HP 💙 #MumbaiIndians #PlayLikeMumbai #TATAIPL — Mumbai Indians (@mipaltan) June 2, 2025 In the 2025 edition of the IPL, Hardik led MI in 15 matches and won nine of them. He, however, failed to do much with the bat and ball and finished the season with 224 runs and 14 wickets. MI fans and team management had high expectations from Hardik in the second qualifier match against Punjab Kings, but he could only manage to score 15 runs from 13 balls after coming out to bat at No. 5 and conceded 19 runs in his quota of two overs. On the other hand, PBKS captain Iyer scored an unbeaten 87 runs from 41 balls with the help of five fours and eight sixes. Iyer's super show with the bat helped PBKS qualify for the IPL final after 11 years and also become the first team in the world to chase down a total of more than 200 runs against the Mumbai Indians in T20s. The 30-year-old right-handed batter also became the first captain in the world to qualify for the IPL final with three different teams. If PBKS manage to get the better of RCB on Tuesday, then he will become the first captain to win IPL titles with two different teams. First Published:
