Cynthia Erivo Dazzles in Brooch-Embellished Givenchy Boots on the Met Gala 2025 Red Carpet
Cynthia Erivo sparkled on the blue floral carpet at the 2025 Met Gala held tonight in New York. Tonight's theme is 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.' The 'Wicked' star turned heads in a pair of knee-high black platform booties. Erivo's footwear featured matte leather uppers in black that transitioned into thin black laces that traveled up the length of the shoe. Pointed toes were adorned with sparkling brooches fixed with colorful gemstones and opulent pearls. You can often find Erivo in platform silhouettes from top brands like Pleaser, Christian Louboutin, R13, Casadei and Schiaparelli, among others. The 'Harriet' actress also wore a matching custom Givenchy ensemble. The look consisted of two pieces, a skirt and a top. The top was made of gray and constructed in a structural style. The top also featured a wide neckline and crystalized adornments all over to match the ones on her shoes. On the bottom, Erivo's skirt was attached to short and voluminous bloomers, creating a high-low effect. The skirt was made of black tulle, creating an elegant shape. The star also carried a black clutch, likely also from Givenchy. The 2025 Met Gala is being held tonight in New York. The theme, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,' celebrates all things African American styles and culture. This year's co-chairs include Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams, along with Vogue's Editor In Chief Anna Wintour. Cynthia Erivo Teases Sophomore Album ‘I Forgive You' in Clear Pleaser Adore-1050C Sky-High Boots
Cynthia Erivo fans rejoice. The performer is dropping her second album on June 6. Titled 'I Forgive You,' the sophomore album features recently released singles, including 'Worst of Me' and 'Replay.' Erivo posted about the album cover art on her Instagram on Thursday, sharing a daring photo of herself in the nude, save for a pair of sky-high Pleaser platform boots. Lace-up closures gave way to silver hardware, zipper closures and pointed toes. Bringing on the height, 2 and 3/4 inch platform soles gave way to stiletto heels standing at a whopping 7 inches. The platform soles and stilettos were clear like the rest of the shoe. Finally, the brand's logo can be found on the insoles in gold lettering. The Pleaser pick is often worn by performers and dancers alike. The shoe was partnered with lengthy white angel wings, adding to the ethereal vibes. The wings swept the floor, creating drama. Erivo's post was accompanied by a lengthy caption that read, 'Over the last 2+ years, between all the flights, the filming, the interviews, and the awards shows, I went to the studio with my dear friend @williamfwells and created this project for you and me.' Erivo has always had a particularly head-turning sense of style both on and off the red carpet. Since starring role in the 2024 film 'Wicked,' the British thespian has upped her footwear game, including platform styles galore paired with seemingly impossible stiletto heels. Boots seem to be her go-to silhouette, however, Erivo also tends towards classic pumps in an array of finishes while on talk shows or red carpets. Shoes from Christian Louboutin, Schiaparelli, Thom Browne, Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo have all been a part of her footwear rotation as of late.
