Tracking potential storms across NEPA
(WBRE/WYOU)— A weak cold front will trigger a couple of showers and thunderstorms tonight. IF a storm can become strong, gusty winds are possible. Otherwise, heavy downpours will be the main threat.
A frontal boundary will stall across Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday.
As disturbances move along this boundary, showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the region Friday afternoon and evening.
PSP announces detours ahead of Pocono Race
Friday is a Weather Alert day because some of the storms could be strong with healthy winds and downpours. The last day of the work week will be muggy with afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue on Saturday. Right now, we expect them to be here in the morning, but they should taper off in the afternoon. Saturday's highs will be in the middle 70s.
We'll get a little break from the rain Saturday night and Sunday morning. Then, the next disturbance in the lineup will approach with more showers, and perhaps a thunderstorm, Sunday afternoon and evening. Sunday's highs will be in the middle 70s.
The chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue on Monday and Tuesday. Highs will be in the 70s. Right now, we expect Wednesday and Thursday to be dry and seasonably warm.
