Champion wins third consecutive district title
HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Champion softball defeated Poland, 9-1, to claim another Division V District Championship on Saturday.
Flashes senior Gabby Gradishar tossed as complete game with 11 strikeouts across 7 innings in the circle while also collecting two hits on offense with two runs batted in and two intentional walks.
Poland's Lillian McDonald crushed a solo home run as the Bulldogs' season comes to an end with a 13-13 record.
With the win, Champion improves to 20-5 overall and advances to take on South Range (22-9) in the regional semifinal game scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 at YSU Softball Complex.
