Search continues for 17-year-old Bundaberg teen Pheobe Bishop
Police have issued a fresh plea for public assistance, a week on from the last known sighting of Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop. Pheobe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Dr in Bundaberg around 8.30am on May 15. She did not check-in for a booked flight and has not been seen or heard from since. Her disappearance is being treated as suspicious. Police on Thursday revealed that no one is currently in custody in relation to the disappearance the teenager. A Gin Gin property where Ms Bishop had been living with two other people was remains an active crime scene, as well as a seized grey Hyundai ix35. Police are also appealing to the public for dashcam and CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35 with Queensland registration 414EW3 near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area on May 15. Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson said public information will be vital to forwarding this investigation. 'You may have the small piece of information that leads us to finding Pheobe,' he said. 'People don't vanish – someone knows something and we're urging anyone with information to contact police immediately.' Act. Insp Thompson said police were told Ms Bishop was dropped off at the airport by 'associates'. 'We're still working together to piece together her movements on that day,' he said. Acting Police Commissioner Shane Chelepy said police hold 'real concerns' for Ms Bishop's welfare and also pleaded for anyone with information to come forward. 'We've got real concerns, Ms Bishop's been now missing for seven days and we'll now treat her as a missing person [that is] suspicious,' Act. Commissioner Chelepy said on the 4BC Breakfast Show. 'If any of the public have seen that vehicle and its movement or seen Pheobe in that time, we really do urgently need them to contact Crimestoppers or Policelink today.' Pheobe's mother Kylie Johnson, who has been pleading for public assistance since her daughter first disappeared, wrote a heartfelt message to the missing teenager on Thursday. 'Phee is still missing our heartache and pain is raw and real,' she wrote on Facebook. 'We as a family are trying to hang onto the light of life that is our Free Spirited Gypsy Soul Phee Phee. 'Phee we need you home, we need to hear your sassy voice and feel your hugs.' Originally published as 'People don't vanish': Update on 'suspicious' disappearance of teen

Mum's plea as search for teen takes dark turn
The mother of a missing teenager – who has not been seen for a week after vanishing in 'suspicious' circumstances – has issued a heartbreaking message on social media as police probe two crime scenes. Pheobe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Dr in Bundaberg around 8.30am on May 15. She did not check-in for a booked flight and has not been seen or heard from since. In a statement, Queensland Police said the girl's disappearance was being treated as suspicious. A property in Gin Gin – where Pheobe had been living prior to her disappearance – along with a grey Hyundai ix35 believed to be the car she travelled to Airport Dr in were declared crime scenes on Wednesday. The Courier Mail reported bags of rubbish were piled up outside the property and dogs – reportedly dead – were also removed. Acting Police Inspector Ryan Thompson said police were told Pheobe was dropped off at the airport by 'associates'. 'We're still working together to piece together her movements on that day,' Inspector Thompson said. 'We do have concerns for her safety due to the reason that it's been nearly a week since she was last sighted and it's out of character for her not to take any contact with anyone. 'We also have concerns she has not checked in as she was required to do. Police have reviewed CCTV from the airport. which indicates that she did not enter the terminal.' A search of Airport Dr and the surrounding areas earlier this week did not result in Pheobe being found, nor any of her belongings. Insp Thompson said police would continue investigations for as 'long as it takes' to locate the missing girl. Pheobe's mother Kylie Johnson on Wednesday issued a plea for anyone with information to contact Policelink on 131 444. 'As we enter another day with Pheobe still missing our hearts are breaking more and more,' she wrote on Facebook. 'Phee we just need to know that you're ok? We just need to hear your voice!' 'We as a family are thankful for the message of support and offers of assistance. Right now we are grasping onto hope and just trying to breathe. Again, all anyone can do to help is keep sharing Pheobe's flyer.' Police are appealing to the public for dashcam and CCTV footage of the grey Hyundai ix35 with Queensland registration 414EW3 near the Airport Dr and Samuels Rd area in Bundaberg, and also the Gin Gin area on May 15. 'Anyone with information regarding Pheobe's whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.' Pheobe is described as 180cm tall and of pale complexion with long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes. She was last seen carrying luggage and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants. Investigations are ongoing.
