Holyoke drive supports domestic violence survivors
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Polish National Credit Union is partnering with a local nonprofit to collect essential items for domestic violence survivors. Domestic violence is a prevalent issue that affects many individuals and families. The Polish National Credit Union has recognized this issue and is taking action to support those in need. They teamed up with the non-profit Alianza and have set up a collection drop-off at their Holyoke location on 270 Westfield Road. This is an opportunity for the community to come together and make a difference by donating essential items for domestic violence survivors. They are looking for toiletries, personal care products, and household necessities to individuals and families transitioning to safety. 'It is a way of saying, well, somebody does care about what I'm going through, someone does believe what I'm going through, and this would be a great help.' Every week, Alianza sees about 60 requests a week from those under immediate danger or fleeing from abuse — looking for emergency placement shelter. You will have the opportunity to show your support and donate until the end of April.
