Irish actor's most 'iconic' costume up for auction ahead of new film premiere

A costume worn by Cillian Murphy in one of his most iconic roles is up for auction. A suit worn by the Irish actor when he played Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders will be auctioned off. It is a period-style grey three-piece suit that was actually worn in the final episode of the sixth series. The scenes were filmed in Buxton as the show wrapped up. The suit includes a note saying 'takes off ring' found in the pocket, which is believed to have been written by Murphy. It also includes a 10-page call sheet and a shirt tailored by Williams and Gill of Manchester. All proceeds will go to The Christie Charity, which supports cancer patients and research at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Other pieces from Peaky Blinders will also be up for grabs. An array of other items of clothing worn by members of the cast, including shirts, shoes, suits, and ties, will also be auctioned. On May 20, the final day of the auction, a Peaky Blinders-themed event will be held at the Peaky Blinders bar in Manchester. Fans will be able to view and bid on the treasured pieces from the show. The auction arrives as interest in the Peaky Blinders movie's hype grows. The film is expected to feature many of the most beloved characters from the TV series, and some exciting new ones. Murphy will be joined on screen by fellow Irishman Barry Keoghan ; however, his role in the film has not yet been revealed.
