4 people, including 2 teens, killed in central Alberta crash

Four people died in a crash south of Edmonton late Saturday night. Ponoka RCMP were called to a serious two-vehicle crash in the area of Highway 2A near Township Road 434 just before 11 p.m. The driver and lone occupant of a GMC Acadia, a 41-year-old woman, died on scene. Two people were also found dead inside a Volkswagen Tiguan: a 26-year-old man and a 14-year-boy. Another 14-year-old boy inside the Tiguan was airlifted to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. All four people were from Maskwacis. 'Although the investigation continues, initial reports indicate that the Acadia was passing other vehicles when it struck the oncoming Tiguan head-on,' RCMP said.
