Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann keeping frustration with lack of offence at bay

Article content 'I'm not trying to think about it too much,' McMann said on Tuesday. Article content 'I'm trying to go into every night with a couple things to think about, speed, physicality, focusing on those things. Article content Article content McMann is in the depths of his longest goalless streak in the National Hockey League, having failed to score in 21 games — the final 11 of the regular season and now 10 in the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs. Not since March 25 against the Philadelphia Flyers has McMann put the puck in the net. Article content Article content The 6-foot-2, 215-pound McMann has been making a physical impact in the playoffs. His 34 hits are second among all Leafs, behind only the 47 thrown by Max Pacioretty. Article content The speed and physicality aspects are taking their time in resulting in more offence, as McMann might hope. He has just 12 shots on goal in the post-season, a 98-shot pace over 82 games. In the regular season, he had 169 shots on goal in 74 games, which put him on 187-shot pace in 82 games. Article content McMann's lone assist in the playoffs came in Game 1 of the first round against the Ottawa Senators. Article content The members of the line of Max Domi between McMann and Pontus Holmberg have provided one goal and one assist — both by Domi in Game 2 — in four games against the Panthers. Article content 'I'm definitely not happy with the (lack of) generation of opportunities,' McMann said of himself.
