Brickbat: Father of the Year?

In Texas, the Port Arthur Police Department and Child Protective Services are both investigating a TikTok video showing a man use a child to clean snow off his car. The man can be seen laughing and smiling as he wipes the child—reportedly three months old and heavily bundled up—across his windshield and hood. After the video was posted, officials conducted a welfare check and found the child was unharmed. But Police Chief Tim Duriso still plans to pursue child endangerment charges and called it "a sad situation." The post Brickbat: Father of the Year? appeared first on

Viral TikTok Video Showed Man Using Baby to Clean Snow from Car. Now He's Likely to Be Arrested, Say Police

Police in Texas are investigating a viral TikTok video that appeared to show a man using a baby to wipe snow off a car. The 25-year-old man, who has not been identified publicly by police, is being investigated by the Port Arthur Police Department, police Chief Timothy Duriso told 12 News. In the video, which was published online by KFDM, the man clears off snow-covered car windows with what looks like a bundled-up baby. Duriso told KFDM he believes that the baby is real and less than 1 year old. Police went to the man's apartment and checked on the baby, who they said was OK, the outlet reported. 'It's a sad situation. I know a lot of people go to social media and they are looking for clicks,' Duriso told 12 News. 'But this is not a deal where you should put a baby on the windshield.'Child Protective Services confirmed to 12 News that it was investigating the incident. Duriso could not immediately be reached for comment by PEOPLE. No charges have been filed yet, but Duriso told the outlet the man could be charged with child endangerment once the case is turned over to the district attorney and could be arrested next week.
