Robert Williams III hosts youth basketball camp in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Portland Trailblazers star and Shreveport native Robert Williams III is returning for a basketball camp at the LSU-Shreveport Gym. Cowboys' Jake Ferguson leads youth football camp in Longview Williams, nicknamed 'Time Lord,' has been an elite defender and efficient offensive player in his NBA career. For his career, Williams averages over 72% shooting from the field while not shooting much. The former North Caddo star played for five seasons with the Boston Celtics before being packaged with Malcolm Brogdon in a trade for Jrue Holiday. The Time Lord's tenure in Portland has been marred by injury. The talented big man has played less than 30 games in the last two seasons combined. Summer fun in the 318; activities, camps and more Williams has returned to the area for similar camps several times during his career. On July 7, the camp is for younger players. Kindergarten and first graders from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while second to fourth graders attend from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On July 8, the entire 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. camp is for fifth to eighth graders. Tom Thibodeau Offers Injury Update for Key Knicks Guard
The New York Knicks are pushing through a tough stretch, dealing with injuries but staying competitive in the Eastern Conference. In spite of the absence of key players, they have maintained their battle and have continued to accumulate victories. Currently holding the No. 3 spot with a record of 47-27. Advertisement Their most recent victory came yesterday, when they beat the Portland Trailblazers 110-93. OG Anunoby stepped up with 28 points, including good fourth quarter, to help seal the win. With Jalen Brunson and Miles McBride both out, Delon Wright filled in and put up 7 points in 35 minutes. The Knicks have relied on their depth all season, and it's paying off. McBride has been sidelined since March 21 due to a groin injury. He was playing some of his best basketball before getting hurt, providing strong defense and consistent scoring off the bench. The Knicks have felt his absence, particularly with Brunson also missing time. Even so, the Knicks have gone 7-3 in their last ten games. When asked about his status, Thibodeau said, 'He's close. We'll see.' Although he did not confirm whether McBride will participate in the next game, it is evident that he is on the brink of a return. The Knicks face the Portland Trail Blazers this Sunday as they continue their push toward the playoffs. Having McBride back would be a big help, especially on the defensive end. With the season winding down, every game counts, and getting healthy at the right time could make all the difference.
